About the MLDXCC

Contesting (Radiosport) Activities

Our Club is a very active contest club! Our focus contests every year are the California QSO Party (CQP) and the ARRL November Sweepstakes (CW and phone). The MLDXCC often wins its club category in these and other major competitions. Contest activities are discussed on our main email reflector. Many of our members travel to distant locations to operate in major contests.

Thirty Years of Club History

The first meeting of the Mother Lode DX / Contest Club occurred on November 17th, 1995, at the Round Table Pizza in Martel near Jackson, CA – though back then it was known as Mountain Mike’s Pizza.

In October 2002 the MLDXCC membership stood at 43 members, the roster filled two pages of The Nugget.

Our official club call is K6AO, in honor in John Fogg (SK).
